On January 1, 2021, MERNEL announced that Daniel would be the model of the new beauty brand targeting the global market. Ingredients are sourced from marine plants. A representative stated, “We chose Kang Daniel as our brand ambassador not only because he has high recognition but also because his luxurious image is exceptionally outstanding among the many Hallyu stars.” Various promotions and activities are planned in countries such as Thailand and Vietnam in addition to large cities in North America, Latin America, and Europe.[s]
MERNEL launched products on January 5. On the 7th, a MERNEL representative shared, “We prepared our site to allow enough customers to join the event, but the traffic was far higher than what we expected. Even our Naver Smart Store temporarily had connection problems due to heavy traffic. We realized the power of our model Kang Daniel once again.” The products were almost sold out.
