Top restaurant franchise Subway announced on September 27 that Kang Daniel would be the new advertisement model for its popular new product ‘Signature Wrap’ in South Korea. A marketing representative stated, “We picked Kang Daniel as our advertisement model because his healthy and trendy image and his unrivaled impact as an artist match well with Subway’s brand image.”[s]
On November 1, 134,374 sandwiches were sold on World Sandwich Day 2019. The event took place for three hours from 2 to 5 PM and was especially popular due to being promoted by Subway’s star ambassadors, including Kang Daniel. The amount of sandwiches sold during the event also represented a more than 2.8-fold increase in sales performance compared to the same time period the week before the event. Moreover, customers enjoyed their sandwiches as a plus one “Subway 1+1” deal with the other one being donated. A total of 67,187 sandwiches were donated to children in need through Child Fund Korea.[s]
